“Appointment of Mr. Brian Christie to the position of Chief Commissioner, of the Scout Association of the Bahamas.”

The National Executive Committee announces the appointment of Mr. Brian Christie to the newly created position of Chief Commissioner, of the Scout Association of the Bahamas effective October 15th 2004.

               

                The National Executive Committee appoints Mr. Brian Christie to the newly created position of Chief Commissioner. As the newly appointed Chief Commissioner, Mr. Christie will be the Leader of the Scout Movement in the Bahamas, responsible for maintaining the policies of the Association and promoting the organization and effective working of the Association. He will assist the National Executive Committee in all matters relating to Finance and Property and will be responsible for the appointment of Scout Commissioners to assist with the management of the Association and the development of the Scout Program. Mr. Christie will be responsible for promoting the effective working of Scout Groups throughout the Bahamas and will ensure that the Movement remains relevant to our leaders, boys & girls and our communities.

 

Mr. Christie has been involved in the Scout Movement over the past thirty years. He is currently the Group Scout Leader for the 10th Bahamas Scout Troop at St. Joseph’s Church. Mr. Christie is a respected community leader and businessman, with a history of working with young people, as Director for the Summer Youth Program in the Bain Town Constituency. He is currently employed as an Air Traffic Control Specialist at Nassau International Airport and in his spare time a Taxi Driver and a Jazz Vocalist.
